Jean Calvin Creche

State crèche ‘jean calvin’

Paris 5th, France

The crèche was built in 1977 as an integrated part of a housing project situated in a dense urban quarter of the 5th arrondissemnent of Paris. The crèche no longer conforms to the present safety and comfort requirements for state crèches. A simplification of the complex internal circulation diagram is proposed creating supplementary spaces from the existing volume for quiet play and afternoon naps. Large redundant cloakrooms are transformed into play spaces whilst oversized bathroom facilities are replaced by purpose built fittings integrated into the play area.
