Program<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Extension of a existing sports complex composed of a 1000 m\u00b2 multi purpose hall, raked spectator seating, changing rooms, firstaid facilities, storage space for existing external sporting areas.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Project<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The site is heavily wooded with mature trees. In order tominimise the impact we chose to set out the building in the least densely wooded area. This gave a 45\u00b0 orientation to the building with respect to the existing site plan and a more direct orthoganal relationship with the main approach road to the centre. The new glazed timber structured fa\u00e7ade thus becoming the welcoming backdrop to a new entrance courtyard. In order to limit the visual impact of the built volume a plante droof is rolled out from the forest floor up over the hall and new entrance situated at the interface with the existing buildings.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
